NQ2 / ABOUT NQ2

Applications working together. People in control.

NQ2 is built around local control, flexible integrations and the freedom to keep using dedicated applications.

Why NQ2 exists

A connected home brings together devices from different manufacturers and applications with different strengths. NQ2 is designed to connect those parts and give them a shared place for everyday control and automation.

A music application can remain the best place to build playlists. A camera application can remain the place to review recordings. NQ2 connects the actions and events that make these systems useful together.

What guides the product

Local control. The installation in your home handles your devices and automations. Optional online access is a separate choice.

Clear boundaries. Integrations can run as independent applications, communicating through MQTT and HTTP. This limits some forms of coupling, while shared infrastructure still needs careful maintenance.

Deliberate access. Cards, roles, guest keys and online permissions let you define who can use which controls.

Practical compatibility. A device recommendation should be based on integration quality, useful capabilities and cost. Compatibility must be checked for the particular model and integration; the presence of a brand name is not a guarantee for every device.
